I have a Windows XP and I'm trying to film some Need for Speed game play. I don't want to use a camera, and I don't wanna pay for any software although free software would be fine. Thanks.|||I used both of those above files and they are decent screen recorders. I use Camstudio's camera.
http://camstudio.org/ I know Hypercam has an annoying thing in the corner if you use it. If you pay the thing goes away, but Camstudio is free with no marks.|||Fraps is the most basic and is always free.

It works in the background and uses hotkeys so you can record on the fly. Uses little memory, although video recordings are spooled into you RAM memory until recording stops and the file is saved.
