How do you clean the white film off of old bottles?

I have several old blob top bottles that have a whitish film on them or in them. Is this wear, or is it just a film that some chemical could remove?|||If it is a mineral deposit caused by liquid in the bottle, a toilet cleaner like "the works" or "CLR" will take it off.

If the white film is inside and outside the bottle, then most likely minerals have actually leeched out of the glass and it would need to be professionally polished, a process that may ruin the silk screened labeling. Old timers used to use hydrofluoric acid to remove the white film on leeched glass, but you can ruin the bottle if you don't know what you are doing.

Good luck
