I am bringing 4 unprocessed rolls of iso 400 film on vacation. All the film will be in my carryon luggage. What should I do while going through security?|||All film under ASA/ISO 800 is safe to be x-rayed at the security checkpoint up to five times. You NEVER want to put ANY film in checked luggage because it WILL be damaged by the x-rays used to screen it. If you are still worried you can ask that your film be hand-inspected. Here are the complete details on traveling with film from the TSA website:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/a鈥?/a>|||Tell them about it ahead of time, so that you don't take it through areas that would damage the film. I'm sure they're faced with this issue often enough that it won't be a problem for them to make the minor adjustments to security it would take to protect the film.|||Contact the airport security office BEFORE you go through security, and ask if they can manually check your bags instead of going through the scanners.|||There isn't a problem... the film is safe up to ISO 800, so you're fine.
I've gone through many airports with ISO 400 film without incident.|||You're using film???
