You know, the frozen dinners? Some say lift a corner to vent, others cut film to vent. What difference can there be in the two?|||if you cut a slit in the film, generally it ends up being in the center and then the food, as it heats will leak the heat out faster so what ever is heating probably heats a bit more slowly, which is what it is intended to do. When you lift a corner only, the heat has to circulate more to find the opening so the food heats faster as the heat travels through it.
Like the difference between having a kettle cover just setting off center so the stuff still boils but the steam is released as apposed to taking the cover completely off. Takes longer to heat then.|||There is none. It's letting steam out no matter what.|||Both are effective.|||Normally your lifting the corner of a cardboard top or slitting a piece of plastic to let steam escape|||when you lift a corner more steam comes out than cutting film. heres a tip make holes when it says cut film|||no difference|||Lifting a corner will only allow a certain area of the food to vent. When you cut the film, the heat from the meal will escape more because heat rises.
